Graduation Requirements
Review the graduation requirements.
- Have you completed and submitted your community involvement hours?
- Have you completed all of the compulsory and elective credits?
- Have you accounted for the 2 online learning credits or have you opted out? Let Guidance know if you need help with this.
- French Immersion. Have you completed all 10 French Immersion credits? Remember Civics and Careers are half a credit each.
- SHSM. Have you self-reported your Reach Aheads or Experiential Learning activities? Are you on the SHSM Google Classroom?

Fee Payment and RSVP Deadline:
- If you're not attending, you still need to complete the RSVP form.
- The fee covers costs such as, but not limited to: Cap & Gown & Material Printing.
- This is also where you’ll confirm guests & request extra tickets (This is a request only as extra tickets are only if space is permitting)

When researching post-secondary programs, it is a great idea to:
know where you can find the required information;
be thorough with your research; and
put in the time and effort to find answers!

Visit recruitment pages for schools of interest.
Plan to attend Post-Secondary Events (Regional Fairs) and bring some potential questions to ask the recruiters (see below).

Admission Requirements:
- What are the prerequisite courses required for your program of interest?
- If a course is recommended for a program, what does that mean?
- Is a paid co-op/internship an option for your program?
- Are there any additional admission requirements for your program of interest besides marks (a portfolio, an audition, answering questions or supplemental application)?
- What is the projected cut-off average for your program of interest?
- Is there admission testing that you have to do to get into the program? Many colleges use a combination of admission testing and high school marks.
- Does your school/ program accept courses taken at night school, summer school and/or private school?
- How are repeated courses considered at your school or within your program of interest (best attempt, blended, ranked)?
- Does your school give alternate offers if you do not get into your first choice of programs?
Residence:
- Are all first year students guaranteed residence?
- Do you need to rank or select a specific residence?
- What are the different styles of residence available at your school? (single, double, triple; shared or private bathroom and/or kitchen)
- When does your residence application need to be submitted?
Finances:
- Are there entrance scholarships offered? How much are they and what are the cut-off averages? How are they distributed to students?
- Do you have scholarships/bursaries that require an application?
- What marks are used to determine entrance scholarships? If you use second semester midterm marks, can my scholarship change based on my final marks?
- What is the earliest date that you may have to pay a deposit?
- What is the approximate yearly cost (residence, tuition, books) involved in attending your university and program of interest? Tuitions can differ substantially from one school to another, and from one program to another even within the same institution.
Health and Well-Being:
- Do you have facilities, clubs and/or programs that are specific to physical health (ie. gym), mental health (ie. meditation club), and/or interests (ie. debate club)? What are the associated costs?
- Do you have clubs or events specific to MLL and/or IEP’d students? What are the associated costs?
- What support do you offer students who are experiencing a significant crisis/mental health issue?
- Do you have gender neutral bathrooms? Where are they located?
- Are there any supports provided specifically to MLL students? How can MLL students access these?
- How do students with IEPs access their accommodations?
- Do you have a general facility where students can receive extra support for learning?
